Domestic applicants with skilled job offers (Onshore), regardless of the EOI score, usually get a resident visa valid for 2 years, called a green card, or PR, during which they can apply for a real green card after living in New Zealand for 184 days, called permanent Green card, namely IRRV, this permanent green card is valid for a long time and does not need to be renewed. After that, no matter how long you leave New Zealand, you will still be a permanent resident of New Zealand

Seventy-eight out of ten overseas applicants (Offshore) who do not have a skilled job offer may get a temporary work visa valid for 9 months. After getting this visa, they are allowed to enter New Zealand and find a job within the validity period of the 9-month visa. After you get the employer’s offer, you can convert to a resident visa valid for 2 years, called a green card, or PR. During the period, you can apply for a green card in the true sense of living in New Zealand for 184 days, called a permanent green card, or IRRV.
